Rotary Club of Letchworth Garden City Lends a hand!

Rotarians of the Letchworth Garden City Club lent a hand on Saturday 13 May 2006, by doing simple jobs around the house and in the garden for the elderly and infirm. The jobs were mainly identified by Age Concern and were co-ordinated by the club’s Community Service Chairman, Rotarian Richard Peach.

Club members undertook such tasks as cleaning windows, tidying gardens and moving items of furniture. They were ably supported by volunteers from the Letchworth Round Table.

This is the first year that the club has organised such a day and club president, Rotarian Allan Patterson said “It was a full programme of work for the seven teams. It has been very well received and has made the four months of planning well worthwhile”.
